Elemental Magic
Elemental Magic includes all element-based magic classes. Anemancy, Hydromancy, and Pyromancy all fall under this classification. The skills can be learned separately, although comprehensive training with all three allows for achieving greater skills in each due to the similarities and differences between each.
The spells of Elemental Magic are classed as Exoarcana. Much like Asterarcana, Exoarcana requires the manipulation of the matching magic field during casting. This is where the similarities end, however. While Asterarcana's fields are woven into the fabric of Vazdimet itself, Exoarcana fields are generated by the presence of their matching type, meaning Elemental Magic can only be cast in the proximity of air, water, and astronomical objects.
Former Elemental Magic Classes
Rumors tell of a fourth, ground-based Elemental Magic, known as Geomancy, although the only available information on this branch is from historical texts from the Golding Library. These texts also classify Electromancy as Elemental Magic, rather than its true class of Thaumadynamics - magic energy transfer - providing insight into the thought processes behind ancient arcana classifications.Utility
While each Elemental classification encompasses its own unique set of spells, the classes are complimentary to each other and easily combined. They're also used frequently with spells from other classifications, such as the combination of Hydromancy with Curative Magic when treating blood loss.
My favourite detail is the note about Electromancy. That's so fun.
