Margett has one, why can't I have one! She's way less careful than me!
— frustrated child
A popular, albeit dangerous, child's toy most commonly found within the Sparnell Confederation, airables are pocket-sized bits of cloth and metal which fold out into full-sized hang gliders.   Runework is woven into the fabric itself and carved into the metals in redundant patterns, providing a basic physical Shielding spell to protect the rider, along with Anemancy to keep the glider aloft. Reputable manufacturers utilize Fibramancy in the manufacture of the wings, as well, to provide an additional layer of protection to the glider and its runes against wear and tear.   While not exactly safe, the toys are still encouraged as one more method to prepare children for their eventual ten-year conscription into the Sparnell Armed Forces, familiarizing them not only with healers but also, potentially, the process of resurrection.

I feel that a bunch of us would have gotten into a bunch of trouble with these as kids! Sounds like a lot of fun. Thank goodness they built in some failsafes. I guess it's a good thing that healing and resurrection are so commonplace that normalizing taking such risks is okay.

Sparnell is very big on normalizing death.   I won't lie, though. I'd have had a blast with this toy, too!

Yeah... The Confederation is a *great* place to live! Really!   It's not indoctrination, it's for their own good!   Heh.
