Trujix Family
Once a powerful and prestigious Family within the Confederation, cautionary tales of the Trujix Family illustrate the dangerous instabilities of Sparnelli politics.
History
Rise
The Trujix Family catapulted into the upper echelons of Confederation upon the release of the Trujix riot rifle, a finely crafted weapon leaning heavily on Technoarcana disciplines to provide a multifunction rifle well suited for both crowd control and high stakes combat. The rifle single handedly ended the long-standing careers of many of its less-versatile competitors. Trujix Dalos and Trujix Ravel, already highly esteemed inventors, became the face of the Family overnight. While taught to live by the Confederation ideals, seeking prestige and honor for themselves and their Family, they found it difficult to adjust to the newfound scrutiny. They maintained the superiority of their riot rifle, making an assortment of small improvements over the remainder of their lives, but this was their last great creation. The remainder of the Family continued to follow in their footsteps, although none of their later inventions rivaled the popularity and acclaim of the riot rifle.Fall
By 2243 EVT, the Family had resorted to more traditional means of maintaining their position of prestige within the Confederation. They continued to maintain their monopoly on their rifle, constantly providing improvements and upgrades to remain just ahead of those Families who wished to supplant their position, while relying upon their conscripted within the fleet to provide the desired glories on the battlefield. No Family members was as promising as Commodore Trujix Vrokon, hand groomed as Admiral Margold Talenthic's successor and heir within the fleet. When the Admiral disappeared under mysterious circumstances, the Family prepared to celebrate Commodore Vrokon's elevation to Vice Admiral - only to see Admiral Kydell selected in his place. Demanding explanation, Sparnell Fleet Command remained aloof, merely stating the Commodore was accused of treason against none other than Fleet Admiral Valcore Sil. Ignoring the implied suggestion to disown their fallen Commodore, the Family decided instead to petition for his release, declaring his innocence and loyalty to the Confederation. In punishment, Valcore Sil herself declared them Dishonored, toppling the once-proud Trujix Family to a fate worse than death in the eyes of their former peers.Disbandment
Reeling from the Fleet Admiral's judgment, the Family fractured, many of its members accepting offers from other Sparnelli Families seeking an insider's information on how to compete against the Trujix's rifle. Others declared themselves disowned, resolving to live their lives without a Family of their own, in protest of the declaration.
Still others formed a new Family, the Kemp Family, seeking to slowly rebuild their prestige for the benefit of their descendants.
