Stardeck AB
Located directly above the Ambition's bridge, the stardeck is a dark, deceptively empty space with a high powered holographic projector, allowing the officers of the ship to effectively coordinate an entire fleet during battle.
Purpose / Function
The stardeck allows its occupants to view three dimensional starmaps and recordings at a larger scale than the smaller projectors built into the consoles and work surfaces throughout the ship. The room is most commonly utilized by the leader of a battlegroup to coordinate the fleet during battle, but has also found use in reviewing starmaps, strategizing battle plans, analyzing past combat, and of course entertainment for the crew.
Architecture
The stardeck is unadorned and completely empty aside from the holographic projector affixed to the ceiling. The overhead, bulkheads, and doors are painted a deep gray to avoid distraction, while the deck is a rich black to differentiate the walking surface and prevent disorientation. Occupants stand and can walk throughout the room to observe the projected maps and displays.
