Libaran

The official language of Libara, Libaran is often mistaken for a formal and more lyrical form of Badenese. Linguists believe both languages evolved from a shared ancestor, now forgotten to time, due to the remarkable similarity. Those fluent in Badenese can typically understand Libaran, especially if also skilled in Galactic Common.   In more recent history the languages have diverged further apart, but not sufficiently to lose the core of their similarities. New Libaran vocabulary often mimics the Galactic Common for such additions, merely shifting pronunciations or spellings to align more closely with Libaran norms. By contrast, Badenese relies upon building descriptors with existing words, avoiding borrowing from outside languages whenever possible.
