Haveid Family
Squaring their shoulders in preparation for the end, Haveid prepped a Telekinetic spell to prolong the predators' efforts. Not a bad way to go. No twisted politics out here. Just the honest relationship of predator and prey. Ignoring the throbbing in their leg as the creature's jaw clamped down harder, Haveid instead gripped the broken branch with their Telekinesis and prepared to pull it toward themself. Not that I intend to make it easy for them. They bared their teeth in their own predatory smile, whiskers splayed in warning.
Public Agenda
The Haveids live for the hunt. The exact nature of this hunt varies by individual preference and training, but in all cases it serves as an outlet for the wilder, more feral nature encouraged in all Haveids since birth. Members of the Family are taught that the Hunter often becomes the Hunted, that capable prey may flip the equation at any moment, and that a true Hunter is always prepared to meet their end at the claws of a capable foe.
This mentality makes the Haveids not only capable Advanced Scouts but also ferocious Battle Mages, willing to face down any threat in pursuit of their goal. Admirals of the Sparnell Armed Forces often work to ensure each of their Special Forces teams includes at least one Haveid as a result. Their drive, bloodlust, and lack of fear in the face of death has saved many a mission gone sideways.
Most members of the Family carry a weaker genetic predisposition to Magic, but they make up for this with stubborn determination and a refusal to back down from the challenge. Mastery of one's skills is simply a different kind of hunt, after all.
I feel like I would like the Haveid family a lot.
