mom is MIA, went out some day and hasn't returned.
Druid has given some information, but that's it.
No trace. She would on occation go missing for a few days, but not many years. When asked where she went she'd simply say that she was "walking between smoke and candles". Knowing how much Tabaxi like to use metaphors, so it could mean almost anything.
Because Tabaxi aren't the most common of animals I started the search in the region simply by asking around if someone had seen a Tabaxi with a spotted brown furcoat around the time my mother had gone missing. While some people remembered her, it all seemed to be of a time before the disappearance.
Then I met a vagrant druid in a tavern. We chatted for a bit and when the topic of my travels came up he said that he remembered travelling with a Tabaxi with that description for a bit many years ago and that they split up in Zion. Apparantly she was in a hurry. Once I had prodded him very thorrowly I asked how I could repay him, but he stood up and replied: "We men of the road must stick together. Perhaps one day I'll be in trouble and you'll be nearby to help." I haven't seen him since that day and I wonder if he'll just turn up someday, asking for help.
tokens of rememberence?
Only a necklace made with obviously fake black pearls that my mother made before she went missing, and my earrings. I got one earring for each person I've considered close friends, which serves as a bittersweet reminder of my past in the Emerald Clounds.
visited any specific place?
Oh! I once visited a fair by a travelling troupe. The performances were spectacular in a different way to magic.
Interesting interaction with people?
Apart from the interaction with the vagrant druid there were not many interesting interactions. Some kids were really curious about my looks, as can be expected since Tabaxi are not the most common race/species out there. I think some grown-ups were also curious, but I think they didn't want to ask. I think.
How did you learn thieve's cant?
I slowly learned Thieves' Cant while travelling through enemy lands during the war in my effort to map it. There one or more guilds (still not sure how fractured it was) were using it and they tought me bits and pieces as well as providing information about the region and its players in return for smaller favours, such as acting as an outlook during smuggling operations. Granted, our relationship has soured a little since someone caught wind that I wrote these things down in my ledger. What they don't know is that this kind of information is hidden in my maps, not written in plain text in the ledger.

Personal history
As my fathers head rolled off the block my mother ran as far as she could, ending up in the elven lands that she called Emerald Clouds. I was born in a temple maintained by an elvish hermit and while my mother raised me for a few years, she went missing with no trace of her. I was lucky enough that one of the famlies took me in, allowing me to live at the fringe of the town. Growing up the majority saw me as too different to be treated equally, so I mostly wandered the woods. At some point a war started between the elves and their neighbors, and finally I was able to use my knowledge of the woods and my fast movement to do something useful. I led elves safely and quickly across the lands, scouted the enemy positions and took out lone enemies when I had the chance.
