Kay is a Gearheart Gadgeteer, eager and enthusiastic. He is the lover of Alto, and can't imagine a life that isn't by the Helyk's side.

Kendrix was an Augmented Reality Engineer, working on new armor AR integrations in a massive city on a corporate world. He was bored of his day job, and sought ways to express himself. He wanted to get a tattoo, and met Alto in his shop. One tattoo turned into several, they began to see each other out of the shop, winding up as roommates and then as lovers. He offered himself as Alto's canvas, parts of his body covered in ink that taps into his Gearheart abilities and changes color based on his mood.

 

Kay joined Hedon at Alto's request, glad to feel more purpose in life besides droning away in his day job. He never expected his day job to change though, but the raid on Alto's shop changed that.

 

The Syndicate felt that Hedon was gaining too much control, and instead of going for the Baron, cracked down on businesses that paid up. Kay convinced Alto that this was an opportunity to see the universe. He quit his job, took his savings and purchased some equipment and tickets to take them off world and to the stars.
