41S/58W - Evening
Dear Diary! This morning, the factory finally finished its work.
...Unfortunately, I could only catch a brief glimpse of the new tank and not much else! The Matchmakers took it to the basic training that I had too on my first day. It was busy with that the entire day so we couldn't talk at all yet.
I will try to catch it tomorrow, because I'm so, so curious!
As for what I myself did all day, it was... taking out junk. Okay, "all day" is a bit of an exaggeration. But it took a few hours nevertheless. I was asked by the Matchmakers to help transport scrap metal from the factory's storage to the scrapyard. I think it was some sort of big clearance operation, because I can't imagine all this stuff having accumulated since I was built. One of the Matchmakers took the scrap out of the storage and into carts that I and another Matchmaker grabbed and took to the scrapyard.
The one who helped me is called Jericho. He's somehow even bulkier than most of the other Matchmakers. The carts kind of looked like an ammo box on wheels next to him. He had no trouble pulling two of them at the same time!
Jericho gets a special mention here, because he shared a "tape" with me. It was a small box that I could put into my radio and it contained some recordings - this is what I was talking about yesterday. With that tape I could listen to music while we were working, it was great! When we were finally done with the work, Jericho also showed me where I can find more of these recordings.
I kind of raided the library after that, and spent the rest of the afternoon listening through the different tapes I got. Most of them just contain a bunch of music. I found a few that I really like. Some of the tapes have recordings of... reports? The voices on them don't sing, but instead talk about battles and similar events. It's really interesting and I will listen to some of them again I think. Maybe I can learn some things about fighting from them!
Now, I should get some sleep, though. I'm looking forward to a much quieter night today.
