The adventurers guild
Edession, a small city near the edge of the dividing forest, home of adventurers and seekers of long forgotten treasure. A town full of craftsmen and mages of adventurers and scholars. A vast wealth of treasure and creatures located in the forest nearby provide the city with its magical items and creations. Flowing through the city is the silver river, connecting it to the capital and providing the necessary food and produce for all the inhabitants to survive making it the lifeline of the city.
The harbour is the busiest place in the city. A cascade of noise flows through the area as workers unload the ships of cargo and passengers leave in a hurry to the nearby taverns. A tall young man with pitch black hair and piercing blue eyes, slowly steps off one of the ships. Dressed in a dark green tunic and brown leather pants with a backpack over his shoulder and a large bladed axe at his hip he steps off and looks around, searching for the adventurers guild.
Located at the edge of the forest is the guildhall, one of the only fortified buildings in the city. Being the first line of defence the four story tall guildhall is surrounded by a large stone wall that is patrolled by adventurers keeping an eye out for the dangers of the forest. Large oaken double doors separate the outdoors from a open tavern-like interior where chairs and tables are occupied by adventurers. Stained glass windows are spread across the walls drowning the inside in the warm orange glow of the evening light. A large circular podium dominates the center while a staircase in the end leads to the second floor. Two counters on either side of the staircase provide the adventurers with food and work, permeating a lovely smell of roasted meat and spices from the kitchens in the back.
The young man walks through the doors and immediately is spotted by an older man sitting near the bar. The old man stands up slowly, grabbing his cane to steady him. His long silver hair is tied up with a leather band, showing slightly pointed ears, and a short grey beard that is nicely kept. Wearing a fine blue robe he waves his free arm and shouts.
"Young man! You must be new, come over here."
Moving through the tables and chairs he makes his way to the old man.
