I am a stay at home father of two awesome kids! Lyla was my first child and she is now four years old. My youngest kid is Brayden and he is almost two. I was diagnosed with Facioscapulohumeral Muscular Dystrophy (FSHMD) at the age of 18. Unfortunatley it changed a lot of what I had planned or wanted to do in my life. I have found myself searching for a way to contribute to society in a way that benefits myself and the people around me. That outlet will hopefully be in writing fictional work; like fantasy novels and short stories. I have spent my life reading, playing and watching fictional stories such as The Lord of the Rings, The Silmarillion, Star Wars, Game of Thrones, and World of WarCraft. I love listening to and imagining these fictional worlds people create and now it's my turn to make my own story. I have always felt that change is inevitable and if we do not change ourselves over time, then we will never be able to accomplish our goals. I had initially wanted to write this book alone as a solo project. But after a year of work, I realized that writing a substantial fictional novel alone is a pretty serious undertaking. I started to doubt that I was able to accomplish this project and stopped writing for nearly a year. I reached out and asked a close friend to read what I had written. This was the first time someone had ever read anything I had written, and I was extremely nervous. I honestly thought it was awful and he wouldn't be too fond of it. To my surprise, that thought was not so, and we ended up brainstorming new ideas for the book. I realized this may be best to do as a group and having the support of someone else would be hugely beneficial. Plus it's just more fun creating fantasy worlds with friends!
